Faith in God Obstacle Course/Gospel Standards

Print Gospel Standards on paper and have one/or all primary children read them before each activity.  Start by explaining the course and reading the 1st Gospel Standard (to find some items to print with the Gospel Standards on them click here)

  • “I will follow Heavenly fathers plan for me” - They must follow the course to receive their reward just like they must follow Heavenly Father’s plan to receive their reward of eternal life.

  • “I will remember my baptismal covenant and listen to the Holy Ghost”- Lift up a box with different summer items i.e.:  sunglasses, beach ball, swimsuit, lotion, sand shovel, etc. See what they can remember out of it.

  • “I will choose the right.  I know I can repent when I make a mistake” – Fill up a bucket with a sponge, explain that water is like our sins and when we repent we are emptying our buckets of our sins.

  • “I will be honest with Heavenly Father, others, and myself” – Play button button, they must be honest when they answer.

  • “I will use the names of Heavenly father and Jesus Christ reverently.  I will not swear or use crude words”- Sidewalk chalk – write as many kind words as you can in 1 minute, see who wrote the most words.

  • “I will do things on the Sabbath that will help me feel close to Heavenly father and Jesus Christ” –Take a rest and have a labeled water bottle to drink.

  • “ I will keep my mind and body sacred and pure, and I will not partake of things that are harmful to me” - Labeled Water bottles

  • “I will honor my parents and do my part to strengthen my family” Tug o war

  • “I will dress modestly to show respect for Heavenly Father and myself”  - - - Dressing up relay

  • “I will only read and watch things that are pleasing to my Heavenly Father” - Stack books on head and walk to next obstacle

  • “Musical chairs, I will only listen to music that is pleasing to Heavenly Father” -musical chairs
