I AM A CHILD OF GOD BOOKMARK

Hi, I am handing these out for primary this week, and I thought other people may want to hand these out during the winter season. I plan on putting a hole in the top-left corner of each one and attaching a small plastic snowflake as a decoration. All of them will be laminated, also. But, the snowflake is completely optional. Thank you so much for a great website!

Print this out on a 8 x 11 card stock or paper it will make two for the regular size candy bars!

Articles of Faith Encouragement

I found Articles of Faith Certified pins at www.LDSGrand.com.  They were economic and cute.  So I ordered a bunch of them and then designed a certificate and candy bar wrapper to coordinate.  The candy wrapper is designed to be printed on 8.5x11 (letter size) paper and then requires trimming inside the dotted line.  I designed these for the ½ pound Hershey bars.  I used these because they are the only Hershey bars that still come with the silver foil under the wrapper.  I think it makes for a better presentation.

We introduced this program in January.  In just six weeks we already have one 10 year old who has memorized all 13 Articles of Faith.  Our Bishop plans to present these items during Ward Business in hopes to encourage all members of our ward to follow this primary child’s example.

Sincerely,

Katie Berry (THANK YOU KATIE FOR SHAING!)

This is a little poem about reverence which I found and then put together this hand out, I put 4 on a page, then we found a little stuffed mouse and hide each Sunday, we asked the kids if they could see the mouse, and remember he was looking at them and watching them to see if they were being reverent.

PRIMARY BORDERS - PRINTABLE

I had someone ask: "What I am looking for is for handouts for my class, templates with boarders so I can write the theme of my lesson on it and hand it to my children in class, so they can carry it on and use it in their FHE, "

So that is what I put together! Maybe someone else can use them too.

FAMILY PROCLAMATION BOOKLET

This great booklet was posted to a Primary Sharing Time list in their files, it looks like it was posted 2/12/2002 by a emmad1973. This booklet is GREAT!! I tried to contact this lady but could not, but I give her all the credit.

It had a few pages in the wrong spot, so I rearranged some of this and have it in a file I am hoping is easier to print from!!
Thanks again emmad1973!!!

Okay everyone, I think I worked through the little kinks that were in the booklet, now this file might screw you up too, if you don't pay attention, I hope that the person who made this booklet does not care that I posted this on my web site, I could not get a hold of her. Her email address does not work.

Anyway, one thing I did was number the pages, so that should help you figure it out.

You do have to print these double sided.

I put the cover as the last page, so is does not mix you up when you are trying to print it!

So here is what you do:
Click the print button in the Adobe Reader File, change the pages that you want to print to print just the odd pages, (MAKE SURE IF THE REVERSE ORDER BUTTON IS CHECKED YOU UNCHECK IT) print those pages, this will also print the cover last, you can pull that out since you wont print anything on the back. Then pick up the pile when they are done and just turn them DO NOT FEED THEM BACK IN WITH THE TOP FIRST IF THAT IS HOW YOUR PRINTER WORKS, you want the even pages to print upside down.
After you have the papers that already have been printed on back in the printers feeder, click the printer button again, this time change it to print just the even pages.
Does that make since??
The way it should come out is, page one should have the top have as page 20 and the bottom page as 1, and the back side should be on the top it should be page 2 and on the bottom it should be page 19 and so forth.

When they all come out just grab the whole stack and turn them over, and on the bottom you should see the page 1 and 20, just fold it in have add the cover and you are done!!

Family Proclamation booklet.pdf

This is a VERY large file, it will take a few minutes to open, best bet is to right click on the file above and save it to your computer but clicking "save to target" make sure you note where the file is being saved to, then open it from your computer not from the web site.

Star Coupon

Each week or when every you want in primary, a child or a group of children are nominated by one of our teachers for something they have done, it may be they were reverent or they helped set out  a classroom or for serving or showing love to another child or teacher. After church the children take the ticket to the bishop's office for a handshake and a treat and he can commend them specifically for what they did.  This way, the child gets special recognition from the bishop and then can also show their parents how they are shining in primary.

I got this idea from another list! I have made some CTR TICKETS, ready to print. One is in B & W that you can print on colored paper, or one has the CTR shield in color that you can print on white paper.

CTR TICKETS - "We created business card sized "CTR TICKETS" which have an area for the child's name, the name of person who gives the ticket ("Caught by:"), and a description of what the child did to earn the ticket that says: "I was caught choosing the right by.."  I designed this as a way to recognize children who are doing something over and above the norm.  For example being reverent when children around them are not, walking to the restroom with arms folded, helping teachers in various ways, etc. After church the children take the ticket to the bishop's office for a handshake and a treat and he can commend them specifically for what they did.  This way, the child gets special recognition from the bishop and then can also show their parents how they chose the right in primary. When you hand one of these tickets to the children they get such a happy look on their faces but try even harder to choose the right.  It also helps the children around them try to earn one, and they usually do!"

Birthday Bar Wrapper

Just print this off on an 8 x 10 paper  and then cut in half (it makes 2) and then cut off the side to fit the bar you have.

(by Kim Bode in Champaign Third Ward, Illinois)
We are one of the wards that do birthday coupons and they work well.
Whoever has a birthday is presented with a coupon in closing exercises (we also sing a birthday song)...they are reminded to go to the bishop's office and reverently knock or wait at the door for the bishop when church is over. I took the words from some of the birthday songs in the Primary Songbook...."You've had a birthday, shout Hooray!" Redeem this coupon at the bishop's office for a handshake and treat. Signed,_____ or... "This month is such a special one, it's birthday time for you!" (I'm sure you get the idea...) To make things easier, I provided the bishop with the treats (air head taffy from Sam's Club or Costco is pretty inexpensive, or I've bought candy the day after Halloween like individually wrapped licorice...) I've found the treat is not as important as the special recognition coming from the bishop, in fact when our bishop is out of town, the children save their coupon until the next week, even when a bishopric member offers to redeem.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I thought this was a great idea, so I have made two different coupons, they are in both color and B&W, so you can choose how you want to make them
I have update these and made new one's so we don't get sick of the same ones!!
Book of Mormon Bookmarks
I did a sharing time about how to teach the kids the difference between verse, chapter, book, and the books in the Book of Mormon. I decided to make a bookmark for each book with a reminder of what story goes into which book. I did not do a story for all of the books- but most. There is a picture and a brief description of the story on the corresponding bookmark. I just told the story and had the kids find where it went. It was fun!
Birthday Cans
Here is a great way to show your primary children that you care about their birthdays.
These really cute surprise birthday cans can't be opened until the children go home, so this makes a fun gift without the worry that they will play with the toys or eat the candy during church.
I'm just a little Prayer Bear,
I'll sit upon your bed
It's my job to remind you
When your prayers should be said.
When you put me on your pillow
As you make your bed each day
Remember as you hold me,
To take the time to pray
Then when you go to bed at night
And put me on the floor,
Remember to take the time to kneel
And say your prayers once more.
I wanted to do something special for the 4-7 year old class without spending too much money.
I took what you had on the website and worded it a little differently with a different bear picture. I printed out on a 4x6 card, cut around the edges, and then laminated. I let the children know that they could put the Prayer Bear Card next to their bed to remind them to say their prayers morning and night. Maybe there is someone else that would like to use what I have created.
Thanks,
Deb Arana (Thanks Deb for sharing!!!)
I'm your little prayer rock
And this is what I'll do
Just put me on your pillow
To stay till day is through
At night turn back the covers
And climb in to your bed
And Whack! Your little rock
Will hit you on the head
Then you will remember
To kneel and say your prayers
As you are supposed to do
When your prayers are finished
Just drop me on the floor
I'll stay all through the night
to give you help once more.
When you get up the next morning
Ouch! I'll stub your toe,
So you will remember your
morning prayers before you go.
Put me back upon your pillow
When your bed is made
And your little prayer rock
will continue in your aid
Because your Heavenly Father
cares and loves you so,
HE wants you to remember
To talk to HIM you know
The Primary needs someone
to throw them a Life Preserver!
Here are some printables that you can pass around in the Adult classes at church, when you need a Substitute, I read about this idea on a Primary List, I tried to find the name of the gal that gave this great idea, but I can't find it now. If someone knows who posted this idea, please send me her name, I would love to give her credit!
This is a card that you can print out 10 on a page, and staple a Life Saver to it and give to a sub in Primary
