Some Games to play in YW

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” Humor.

“Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”  It was a lot of fun.  Here are some of the games:

The Dating Game

Three girls pick a character trait from a hat and have to act that that character – so it could be a new missionary or the bishop or someone from survivor, etc.  The “suitor” has to guess the character trait.

Three-Headed Broadway Star

Take three girls and stand side by side.  Make up a song on the spot.  The trick is that each person can only say one word.  So the first one would say “The”.  The next one says “bird”.  The third one says “flies”.  And the first one says “south”.  It’s funny to see if they can make a coherent song that rhymes.

Song Titles

You have to create a scene using only song titles with two people.  The scene may be “A first date”.  The first person says “Hello” (Lionel Richie).  The next person says “Hey Jude” (Beatles).  The first person says “You Are So Beautiful” (Joe Cocker)  The continues until someone can’t think of one or makes up a song title; then someone else can step in.

Catch Phrase

Have everyone write down a bunch of their favorite one-liners like “It’s not a tumor” (Kindergarten Cop) or “I’m king of the world” (Titanic).  The two actresses pick three phrases and stick it in their pocket without looking at them.  Then they act out a scene like planning a wedding.  During the scene they have to use phrases by picking them out of their pocket.
When I was a teenager, we used to play the dictionary game.  Someone would pick out a word from the dictionary at random.  The person who picked would write the real definition down.  Everyone else writes down a fake definition.  The picker reads all the definitions.  If you choose the right definition, you get a point.  If someone chooses your fake definition, you also get a point.  It can be humorous to see what people come up with.
