Movie making night
The mia maids had called all the boys and girls and told them specific items to bring. Things like, tin foil, Barbie’s and Barbie doll car, little Thomas trains, wigs etc…. All these items were props. There were a lot of props. They had also divided all the youth into three groups, each group had a director and cameraman. The groups had a manila envelope with instructions in it. One group was a western, one was an adventure and the other was sci-fi. Each manila had the names of who was in their group. Each group
had 1/2 to make a 5-6 minute movie. Before leaving to go to their rooms and before each group was told their theme, each youth went up to the stage and picked out 2-3 items each. After making the movies we went into the gym and had popcorn and water (to avoid messy spills) and licorice. It was really cute. The kids had a lot of fun and the movies were hilarious. When the western was done they had them stand up and they gave
them a bag of Jolly ranchers. After the sci-fi they got a bag of starburst and after the adventure they got life savers. It was a great night. Easy clean up as well.

Movie Night
We had a great activity last week. We had a movie night. We set up 2 “theaters” and also had a concession stand. The girls made posters advertising our double feature and we also made tickets. They really enjoyed watching Johnny Lingo and You are Special. They both carried the same message. We tried to find the Phone Call but couldn’t. I hear that would be a fun one too. We were surprised by how many hadn’t seen Johnny Lingo. They munched on popcorn and licorice too. It was a great night and didn’t take too much effort. You could also give a quick devotional about the Media taken from the Strength of Youth to tie it together. Just an idea. Good luck!
