Goal of Personal Progress
The New Personal Progress book and journal are smaller to fit with the scriptures the girls use. The color on the front cover is periwinkle blue and they are spiral bound. The title reads “Young Women Personal Progress, Standing as a Witness of God.” These words frame a picture of the new Young Womanhood Recognition medallion depicting the temple spires. This signifies that the goal of Personal Progress is, Indeed, to be prepared to receive the ordinances of the temple.
I found another place that mentions why the temple is on our books–including the young men’s books. Its in the message from the first presidency in the Guidebook for Parents and leaders of youth. It says, “We want the young people of the Church to be valiant and righteous servants of God, dedicated to living each day so they can go to the temple and receive God’s greatest blessings for them. Therefore, we have chosen the temple
as the symbol for the youth of the Church.”
