I will become a young woman of faith

In January our Stake YW presidency came around to each ward to talk about a new program they were trying this year.  They had cards made up in each of the value colors for the girls to choose.  On the front it had the name of the value, a place to write your name, and then said something like “I will become a young woman of faith” (or whatever the value was).  On the back it had suggestions of things they could do to become a YW of that value.  There were several things listed like read scriptures about the value, interview members of your family about their thoughts/feelings about the value, read talks from General Authorities about the value, pray to understand the value better,
etc.

The girls had until New Beginnings to choose which value they wanted to work on for the year.  The Stake YW presidency came around to each ward’s NB program and handed the value cards out to the girls then left extras with the YW presidencies for girls who weren’t there or for girls who lost their value card or decided to trade values.  The whole idea for the program was to make YWIE easier for the girls.  They concentrate on doing the things on the back of their value card for the year then base their YWIE project/display on what their value was and what they accomplished.  I am hoping that this will turn out better for YWIE this year.  Last year I only had one girl who did a PP value project and the others just brought something from home that represented their personality or something else that had *nothing* to do with PP.  The Stake suggested
different ideas for the girls for their display that would could be done easily like make a poster listing the scriptures they read about their value, take notes about what they did on their value card and bring a spiral notebook with their notes in it, make a *simple* journal of the things they did etc.
