We just had a great Night of Excellence and I wanted to share what we did.
I started at the beginning last year and took pictures at various activities. A few weeks before our Night of Excellence video taped each girl. We asked them several questions and taped their answers. The questions were
1. What was your favorite activity?
2. Who is Joseph Smith and how do you feel about him?
3. Who do you know that arised and shined forth?
4. How do you feel about Pres. Hinckley?
5. How do you feel about the Saviour?
6. How do you feel about the Book of Mormon?
I put the pictures to different music after each song we showed one of the segments of video that we had and put it on a DVD. The girls loved it and the parents were in tears over the girls responses to the questions. It gave the parents a chance to hear their daughters testimonies something that they do not get to hear very often. The DVD was a lot of work and you need to make sure you have all the software and hardware to pull it off before you start. We are making copies of the DVD to give to each YW for
Christmas. This was a huge success with the girls and their parents.
We did a movie theme for the whole night. Our invitations were movie tickets. We had bags of popcorn for each person and a drink so they could just sit back and watch the DVD. It ended up being about 40 minutes long.
