I thought I would share what we finally came up with for our YWIE. We are basing the evening on a puzzle. Our theme will be “Solving The Puzzle Of Life”. We will focus on how one value by itself is good and gives you a piece to work with, but to add all the values (pieces) together, it creates a masterpiece so to speak. Applying all of the seven values in our lives not only strengthens our testimonies, but brings us closer to Christ. We will have Seven girls present or share what they have done in one of the values, each one will have a different value. After they have presented their value, they will put a piece of the puzzle together. Once the puzzle is completed, we will turn it over and there will be a picture of Christ. (This is still somewhat of a work in progress). I’m trying to figure out how to do this so that we don’t have to cut the picture of Christ. Any ideas? Once all the values have been presented, I will pull the theme together and turn over the Puzzle showing the picture of Christ. I think we will also have our Bishop speak briefly. We will have tables set up with each value so the YW can display any projects and each table will be labeled in that value color with a huge puzzle piece. I hope this makes sense.
At the very end, we will be having a slide show of what has taken place the last little while in YW’s. We will be burning a CD for each of the YW, and we will also be giving them a wood puzzle piece with the Theme of the evening on it and the thought; The Young Women values fit together like a puzzle. Once each piece of the value puzzle is in place, your testimony grows and you become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. The wood puzzle piece is about 4″ x 6″ and will have holes drilled so we can put ribbon through it. They can then hang it on there wall or a door knob. The front with the words will be done with scrapbook paper, color copied and then decoupaged on. We are also going to put small buttons in each of the value colors on the front. Once we get one completed, I’ll see if I can take a picture of it and put it in the files section.
